One day I've decided to take my do Hunter to the vet. He was 15 and a pretty large do (his human age was about 90). He was getting fatter and fatter and his life was drastically affected by this fact. The veterinary's advice was to give him 2 aspirins a day. I started to do that and in just one week I noticed he was getting better, therefore I decided to continue this treatment. For the next couple of weeks Hunter's overall health continued to improve. However all of a sudden he started to act strange.

He stopped eating, drinking and he was looking very bad. I thought something bad happened to him because of his age. A heart disease or something similar that could put his life at risk.

I watched him during the night but he was only feeling worse. I couldn't understand what could have happen to him. He was so healthy and happy in the last few weeks and now all of a sudden he was so ill. I couldn't make any connection between his illness and the aspirin I have been giving to him.

However I've decided to take hunter to the vet again. The vet decided that the aspirin was the cause of the intestinal irritation that Hunter was suffering from. In just one week my dog recovered and he got healthy again. There's no need to say that I've stopped giving him aspirin. However since I stopped give him aspirin his initial problems returned and so did his inflexibility and the getting up problems.

This is when I decided to do a little research on this topic. I had to find something to help Hunter with his Arthritis and joint problems. Gave dog aspirin and now shes throwing up?

This morning my Black Lab was limping. I called the vet and they said to give her 2 aspirins. I did just that. She is now throwing up. I called the vet again tonight and told them she was throwing up and they said she is throwing up from having an empty stomach and taking aspirin. Anyone ever heard of this?

Yes, it happens sometimes to both people and dogs.

Make sure you've given her some water to drink--throwing up aspirin of all things is one of the nastiest thing in the world-take it from someone who has been there more than once

I'm not sure how long your vet told you to give your dog aspirin, but I'd wait awhile before giving her any more--until tomorrow, if you want to play it really safe. It's just something I always do-you don't want to risk an overdose or gamble how much in her system.
