Canine Cushings Disease
Are there any natural or homeopathic remedies for canine cushings disease?
11 year old, 15 # Lhasa apso/bichon friese mix, not drinking excessively, but always hungry, now begging almost constantly, may also be craving salt
My sister has a Dane with this. Talk to your Vet because your dog will probably have to have medication. Along with medication, diet is important and dogs with Cushing's need less protein that what is in the regular dog foods. Try some Nature's Recipe Venison and Rice and add some Dan Active yogurt. That should help your dog. The food I suggested is a lower protein for Cushings, and it is also different meat that dogs are less sensitive to. You might try feeding the dog twice a day if you have been feeding it once a day. Not more food, just feeding more often. Ask your Vet what treats your dog can be allowed. The dog's diet is really important to its health.
