How do you raise the cat bowl off the ground for a cat with arthritis without buying the expensive ones online

I only want to raise it about 4 inches. He has a bad hip. I have tried a couple things but he just knocks them over...

Get a box and fill it with newspaper until it is as high as you want. Place the bowls over the newspaper and they should not be knocked over.
