how can i tell if my cat is done giving birth?

Our cat (Honey) has given birth to 3 kittens. They came about 10 minutes apart from one to the other. Honey is now resting, but were not sure if she is done giving birth. It seems like there is more kittens in her, but I'm not sure since this is the first time I,ve see, and helped a cat give birth. So how can I tell if she is done giving birth. And if she isn't, how can I help her contuin.

I had one cat that took a break of upto 9 hours between delivering each of the two horns of her uterus. Her daughter once delivered a kitten three days after the rest of the litter arrived.

A cat's uterus is divided into two sides. Typically, there will be an equal number of kittens on each side. If your mom cat has only three kittens, then one side had two and the other one kitten. Or all three came from one side and she has two, three or four on the other side. Do you still feel movement?

If the kittens are all latched on well and nursing, their sucking will cause contractions that will either help any remaining kittens to come out or reduce the size of her uterus. Helping her babies to latch on is the best thing you can do to help her now.

To be certain your mommy cat is done, keep her and her babies in a small, enclosed area. You don't want her having kittens in a risky spot or for her to move her kittens, either.

Mom may continue to spot for a few days which is normal. Just be certain to change her bedding on a regular basis. Keep the bed warm, clean and dry for the babies.
