Can cats gain weight from arthritis medicine?

I found out she had arthritis a month ago and i've been giving her medicine for it since then, could that be causing weight gain?

My cousin came over today and said my cat felt and looked heavier and asked if she gained weight.

i do not think so but ask your local vet i hope your cat gets better and you have a great time when she does
